Tour of Civitavecchia

The Tour of Civitavecchia is the perfect Excursion to discover the History, the Tradition, the Monuments and the Hidden Secrets of the Old City. Civita in fact means City and vecchia means Old. The most representative Part is of course the Market of Civitavecchia in the Historical Centre. You will walk through narrow streets where colours, flavours and Locals are the protagonists. At the Market you will try typical Italian Products and seasonal Vegetables and Fruit. For example you will be delighted by local Cheeses, Cold Cuts and a Pizza slice. Our visit will continue in Piazza Leandra through the little Archetto, the Gate of the Ancient City Walls. In Piazza Leandra we will see the Hidden Paintings made by Raphaels' Pupil Ugo da Carpi at the beginning of the 16th century as preparatory Draw for the famous Stanze di Raffaello in the Vatican Museums, private Room of the powerful Popes Julius II and then Leo X Medici. The visit of Civitavecchia is not complete if you don't see the Fort of Michelangelo and the beautiful Promenade of Civitavecchia.
